WELCOME TO THE INLAND NORTHWEST RAIL MUSEUM

The Inland NW Rail Museum’s collection reflects the remarkable breadth of railroad history in the Inland Northwest and beyond.  The museum's preserved artifacts range from an early 20th-century steam locomotive, an array of first generation diesel engines to historic passenger coaches, dining and sleeper cars, cabooses, freight equipment, railway post office cars, streetcars, maintenance vehicles, and industrial machinery such as a steam donkey engine and a 250-ton wrecking crane. Complementing the rolling stock are extensive museum displays featuring railroad memorabilia, Western Union communications, regional railroad history, train stations, and operating model railroads. Together, these diverse historical pieces illustrate more than a century of technological innovation, transportation, commerce, and daily life, making the museum an invaluable resource for preserving and interpreting the rich rail heritage of the Inland Northwest for future generations.
